Welcome to Libby Zanders Photography
Hi there! I'm Libby and I’m a photographer living near downtown Phoenix. I was born and raised in Kansas City (that’s me, my beagle, and my Harley in a backyard in Rosedale, KS) and recently moved from Hattiesburg, Mississippi to the desert after 5 years in the Deep South.
I received my BFA in Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and have been working professionally since 2011 specializing in branding, headshots, wedding/event documentation, portraiture, and BTS stills for film and editorial productions.
Becoming a secondary school Visual Art teacher in 2021, I was able to follow my passion of empowering young people to achieve autonomy in the art world. My experiences as a working artist and photographer bring real life applications to the classroom. I’m grateful to serve the PXU district in Central Phoenix. However, my photography is a joy that I can’t quit, so I fill my calendar with specially selected jobs when I can.
I love to travel and am available for projects anywhere. My specialty is capturing people’s personalities, and I approach my work as documentation of fleeting moments. People are centered in my practice, ignoring the ever changing trends in the photography world; the intention is timeless results.
You’ll find me spending any free time working with my community, collecting and playing music as loudly as I can, and laughing with family and friends far and wide.
